Rural Rebuild

Park House was originally built in the early 1960s. A two storey house in bungalow style, with rendered walls, small dormer windows and parched porches, it had never done justice to its location. It had long been the owners’ wish to create a house worthy of its exceptional setting.

A design was produced a Warwickshire Essential Developments commenced the work in April 2007. The project was completed a year later. The overall footprint of the house was maintained, with some additions: a new glazed front gable, a garage block, courtyard and outbuildings, allowing the old garages to be converted into a study. The rendering was replaced with brick. Some interior walls removed, to create more spacious rooms. Large oak framed windows and doors opened up the views. The property was rewired, a new heating system and bathrooms were installed.

The previous tarmac parking area in front of the house was landscaped into a small formal garden, while at the rear the concrete slabbed terrace was replaced with Travertine, surrounded by glass balustrades.

The result is a light and airy home, taking full advantage of the beautiful views. The accommodation, on three floors, provides the owners with a perfect layout for work and family life.
